Born in Jining, Inner Mongolia in 1960. Part of Army Service 1977-79. Graduated from Tianjin Institute of Fine Arts with a major in Painting and Printmaking Instruction 1983. Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Beijing, Masters Degree in Printmaking in 1989. Received a Freeman Fellowship and Residency, Vermont Studio Center, USA in 1998. Participated in workshops at Elam School of Fine Arts; Wanganui Polytechnic; Dunedin Polytechnic School of Fine Arts; School of Art Lithography and Lectured at Dunedin Public Art Gallery, New Zealand in 1999. Presently working as a Deputy Professor, Deputy Head of Dept. of Printmaking, CAFA
